Name: Jory Kleemann
Hometown: Valparaiso, IN
Graduation Year: 2014
Major: Environmental Management in SPEA
Years on the Team: 3
After I first heard about the team openings, I had to get a proper nudge from my friends to make the full commitment to join. Since then, I have gotten to experience a whole new side of Bloomington and IU: getting to ride through the country, meet many past and present competitors, and to be sober during race week. I have learned more lessons than I even realize. During this last lap of my senior year, I look forward to what this fresh season will bring our team.
When I’m not biking to the track or to class, I like exploring the restaurants on fourth street, hosting brunch, catching up with my sister on the phone, and reading. Also, there are many great hiking spots that I am anxious to revisit during Spring.
My interest in Environmental studies sprang up when I took an intro enviro science class on a whim. The extreme breadth and complexity fascinated me. I would like to go on to graduate school in Colorado, but until then I will be doing research in SPEA’s toxicology lab.
